Miguel Zaldívar Blanco

General Manager of AEE Power Ventures

Miguel joined AEE Power in 2014, when he soon was given the mandate to establish the company’s subsidiary in South Africa and to lead the expansion of the group within the Southern Africa region, both for EPC and concession opportunities. During this time, Miguel originated and assisted in the development and financial structuring of one of the first renewable energy Independent Power Producer deals in Namibia. Since January 2018, still based in South Africa, he is the General Manager for AEE Power Ventures, the power development arm of the group in charge of overseeing the whole Sub-Saharan African region.

Miguel holds a Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering and has spent most of his career devoted to the African continent and the energy sector.

After starting his career as field project engineer, he coursed a MBA as part of the ICEX scholarship program from the Ministry of Economy of Spain. Subsequently, in 2012 he started serving at the Economic and Commercial Office of the Embassy of Spain in Ghana, where he assisted both SME and blue-chip companies in developing trade and investment opportunities in various West African countries.
